Cormorant’s third album now streaming in full!

Cormorant - Earth Diver album art

We’ve been following the new Cormorant record since before Christmas, through crowdfunding campaign and a couple of preview tracks, but the day is finally here: Earth Diver is out, and available to stream thanks to the fellas at Metalsucks. Check it out:

Despite losing founding member Arthur von Nagel over a year ago to a career with popular game developer Telltale Games, the former bassist and vocalist’s shadow has hung over the remaining and new members, but this should dispel any ideas anyone might have had that “Cormorant had left Cormorant.” The difference is tangible in some ways, but this is Cormorant at their folky, progressive, blackened best. “Daughter Of Void” rumbles with a sublime energy after an upbeat acoustic into, and the more low-key moments like the opening to “Waking Sleep” brood and seethe over atmospheric bass work and utilise some haunting clean vocals.

We haven’t heard any word about live dates for the new-look Cormorant, but we’re hoping that will change soon. This album should go down very well, and complement the band’s back-catalogue nicely.

If you like what you hear, Earth Diver is out now, and you can pick it up from their Bandcamp here for a measly $8! Good on ‘em.
