Falloch stream new album This Island, Our Funeral
Man, Glasgow seems to breed awesome post-rock bands like kilt-wearing, scotch-necking bunnies. Big hitters like Mogwai rub shoulders with the likes of our own Mountains Under Oceans, but today it’s the turn of four-piece Falloch.
Named for the Falls of Falloch, a waterfall in the Trossarchs national park, the band will release their second album This Island, Our Funeral tomorrow via Candlelight Records, and of course there’s the obligatory album stream, which you can listen to below:
The follow up to 2011′s Where Distant Spirits Remain was recorded at Orgone Studios by Jaime Gomez Arellanu, who has worked with the likes of Ghost, Cathedral and Ulver.
I’ve spun it a couple of times so far; it’s a long one, but it really rewards your attention. There are some really driving, riffy bits, which are counterbalanced by extreme serenity in other places.
This Island, Our Funeral is out through Candlelight Records tomorrow, January 27th.
