Michigan’s finest, La Dispute, are streaming their new album in full!

La Dispute - Rooms Of The House album art

I’ll admit to being a fairly new La Dispute convert. Like, within the past half hour. Of course, their name is not unfamiliar, but we all have blind spots, don’t we?

Well, with a new album only a week away, now is a better time than any to get involved. Rooms Of The House is the Grand Rapids quintet’s third full-length, although as in common within their genre – largely screamo, with post-hardcore elements – they have seven EPs, so they’re quite prolific – although this is the first record in three years, so it’s certainly a bit of event.

I can full appreciate that screamo isn’t for everyone; like many others in the genre, Jordan Dreyer’s harsh spoken vocals might be a bit off-putting – but this is also one of its greatest strengths. There’s a sparseness to them that allows the often frantic groove of the music to edge through and really wash its emotion all over and through you.

Rooms Of The House has grabbed me hard already. The stream, which was premiered over at Noisey, is eleven tracks of stripped back awesome, and you’d do well to give it a listen:
