ArcTanGent adds seven names to finish off the 2015 bill

ArcTanGent 2015 final announcement poster

We’ve been practically salivating over the last few months as ArcTanGent, the UK’s premier festival for everything post, drops tantalising name after tantalising name. They started with the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, later added Maybeshewill and The Fall Of Troy, and have now busted their final load by dropping the name “Cult Of Luna“, along with six others. Christ.

Of those six, PSOTY (or Pet Slimmers Of The Year, as they were known until recently) are our pick of the newbies. Their 2014 album Fragments Of Uniforms really impressed us, and a performance not long after also went down a treat. They’ve definitely got the goods to make the most of an opportunity like this – there may only be three of them, but MAN do they kick up a racket.

Also added are Japanese four piece instrumentalists Lite, in a European festival exclusive, along with highly-regarded San DIego Sumerians CHON, as well as pg.lostToundra and Young Legionnaire.

This is on top of some already stellar names - Deafheaven and 65daysofstatic stand out in particular – as well as a slew of hidden gems, including Red Sparowes guitarist Emma Ruth Rundle (both on her own and with her other band Marriages, who just recently released their debut album Salome), French electro-metal hybrid artist The Algorithm, the massive riffs of Latitudes, south-coast math wizards Polymath (also with a recent release, called Reptiles), the intense Tacoma Narrows Brige Disaster, Glaswegian quartet Vasa, and the ultra-talented dudes known as The Fierce & The Dead.

Besides all these, there will no doubt be some absolute gems among the rest. We’ve heard good things about OHHMS, Alpha Male Tea Party, Deerhoof, Vennart and Rolo Tomassi.

So all in all, this is going to be something special – yet again.

Apparently there are fewer than 300 Thursday-Saturday tickets left now, so if you want one and have been holding off, the time to act is NOW. Get your tickets, of whatever variety, from the ATG website here. We’ll see you there.
