Arsonists Get All The Girls get all psychedelic with new video
Arsonists Get All The Girls, the Californian electronica-infused grindcore quintet, have always been one of those bands on the periphery of my radar. On paper their name screams “shite deathcore tryhards”, which although I know is wildly unfair, is a feeling I’ve not been able to shake.
That being said, new album cycles are always a chance to start afresh with one’s perception of a band, and with AGATG gearing up for the self-release of their new fifth album Listen To The Colour.
Today is the first time this news has reached my ears – despite having been announced almost a month ago – but it’s particularly interesting now as the group have released this short, 46-second video for the track “Beast Fist“:
It’s short and to the point, that’s for sure, with a definite cybergrind feel in the length, sonic quality and the psychedelic visuals, which were created by Joe Sams.
Fan reaction seems to have been mixed so far – possibly something to do with the length – but I have it under good authority that this harks back to their earlier material, and hell, grind’s meant to be short. I also think it’s a perfect opportunity to tease new material with something so limited in length, as you get an idea, but nothing too concrete so the casual listener might lose interest.
Listen To The Colour will be released on August 1st via the band’s Bandcamp page.
