Coheed announce new album The Color Before The Sun

A band known for their sprawling conceptual prog albums, Coheed And Cambria are treading a new path in 2015. They’ve just announced their new record The Color Before The Sun, and word from the horse’s mouth is that it will be the first non-conceptual body of work they’ve put out in their 20 years together. Says frontman and general hairbest Claudio Sanchez:

“I kind of want people to know that Coheed can write that sort of record. I’ve always said in the past that there’s never been a limitation on the band. It makes no sense to me to draw a line in the sand and never cross it.”

It’s going to be a few months yet before release, but by way of introduction, the band have premiered a song on called “You Got Spirit, Kid”, and it goes a little something like this:

The Color Before The Sun is due out 9th October via 300 Entertainment. The band are hitting a fuck-load of festivals this summer, including the awesome-looking Hevy Fest in Kent next month. Full details as follows:
