Get involved with Sockweb; your new favourite grindcore band!
Grind aficionados with a penchant for the comedic finally have reason to rejoice: Monolithic Records is pleased to announce a new caption contest in concert with everyone’s favourite father/daughter grindcore duo, Sockweb. These Hoosier State grinders’ formidable fan-base is practically howling in anticipation of their debut record Werewolf, due out on August 6th. So, if having the product of your own brain appear on the official t-shirt from the “brutorable” pair, then this contest is for you, dear reader.
The contest is quite simple: first, you use your eyeballs to see this design — created by the excellent Clayton Jarvis of Abom Designs — of Wolfie behind the kit.
Next, you share it on social media via our lovely post on Facebook here and/or Twitter here - you know, whatever social media service you happen to use, such as Facebook or throwing pages from a legal pad out the window of your studio apartment – and once you have shared the image, write a caption for the design IN ALL CAPS. Dig deep into the dark recesses of the cesspool you call an imagination and pull out your best quip. Make it something pithy and awesome like a line from The Big Bang Theory or a commercial about mesothelioma lawsuits.
After the caption, please paste this brief statement from your corporate overlords:
“Brutorable father/daughter grindcore duo Sockweb are releasing their ferocious debut album Werewolf on August 6th, featuring special guests including Katherine Katz of Agoraphobic Nosebleed and mastering by the legendary Scott Hull! (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed).”
The winning caption will be featured on that very t-shirt design and, thanks to the boundless generosity of Monolithic Records, the creature that penned the caption will receive one of those same shirts for free. Isn’t that just brutorable?
