We posted last month that legendary Swedish post-metal band Cult Of Luna are due to release a new album next year, which given their impeccable fourteen-year pedigree, is enough to set the saliva glands into overdrive. You can now get a taste of said album with the stream of the new track “I: The Weapon“, the second track from the record.

The album is said to be inspired by Metropolis, a classic of silent cinema and a godfather of the dystopian science fiction genre, meaning it is likely to be a concept record, dealing with themes of structure, linearity, machinery and repetition – so potential for repeated elements and recurring passages throughout.

Dates have been announced for a few UK shows with Humanfly and her Name Is Calla as support, which as ever can be found in our ever-expanding and user-generatable events calendar!
