The UK has just received the welcome news that American alt-metal titans Deftones will be heading over to their shores this coming February – for an admittedly stingy run of dates, anyway – undoubtedly to promote the new album Koi No Yokan , which is due to be released on November 13th, and will be the band’s seventh record to date.

2010′s Diamond Eyes was critically praised, and with good reason. It recaptured the spirit and groove of 2000′s genre-classic White Pony, and was undoubtedly a coup for the band, who were undoubtedly nervous in the wake of bassist Chi Cheng’s debilitating car accident. Stand-in Sergio Vega has done a fine job, however, even taking up production on that effort.

Vocalist Chino Moreno has noted that Vega has been able to make a more significant contribution to the writing process as well this time around, and from what we’ve heard so far, Koi No Yokan will only build upon the success of a currently Cheng-less era ‘tones.

I’ll be on the warpath to any who stand in my way of a ticket – yet it is my solemn duty to inform you that said passes go on sale this Friday at 10am GMT via Ticketmaster.

Dates will be up imminently in our own event calendar - including a few in Europe not indicated on the poster – if they aren’t already by the time you read this, and Acolytes can check themselves in as going!
