This is short one folks due to the time sensitive nature of this content. Dragged Into Sunlight, the mysterious balaclava donned, terrifying doom, sludge, black metal hybrid are back in the saddle again, despite the fact they only just released their impressive sophomore album, Widowmaker in November of last year! They’re currently in the studio, working hard on their third album, which is said to bear more of a resemblance to their highly praised debut, Hatred For Mankind. As a precursor to this they’ve released a new track on the soundcloud for Vagrant Recordings. This track however, will only be available until the end of the day, so be sure to jump on it now!
The track is untitled and is a collaboration with the band, Gnaw Their Tongues, the prolific one man experimental black metal project, who has also appeared previously on Anaal Nathrakh‘s Passion. It’s a blistering and harrowing composition, which is to be expected considering the two sources. It begins with a charming soundbyte featuring the words of Michael Ross, a serial killer, and refers to his strangulation of victim Wendy Baribeault. This pleasant subject sets the tone rather obviously, but is extremely effective. Now all we’re left with is the pummelling drums, the chaotic discordant guitars and the pained, frantic shrieks of vocals. Delightful.
There’s no official word on a release date for Dragged Into Sunlight’s next dark opus, but we’ll be sure to tell you when more details come to light!
