Listen to the new Devil Sold His Soul EP in full!
This one has sort of crept up on us – mostly because we can’t believe it’s already the middle of bloody November – and despite videos and release shows to get us in the mood, we’re now mere days away from the release of Devil Sold His Soul’s new EP Belong ╪ Betray.
Recorded at guitarist Johnny Renshaw’s own Bandit Studios, the record is five gloriously constructed songs of such beauty and magnitude that you’ll be hitting replay again and again. Probably.
Before I carry on about it any further, go check out the stream over at Rock Sound. You’ll have to login-sign up for the Deezer service, which is a bit of a drag really, but never mind; it’s worth it.
It’s good, isn’t it? Go on, play it again. Whilst “Time” is likely already ingrained in fans’ minds, and we’ve had another two songs in the last few weeks, it feels even better as a cohesive whole. “Devastator” and “Unveiled” bring with them the harder tinge, but “╪” is as sweet as I’ve ever heard them – and when the whole thing is over, it just feels too damn short!
Vocalist and ‘new’ boy Paul Green said of the EP
“I’m absolutely stoked to get this record out there. Each song on this record is a huge part of me & something I’m immensely proud to put out. The band itself has been through a massive transition period since I joined last April and this represents a journey for us all. It’s been a tough time but hopefully the start of something great.”
Good luck to them. The band are playing at Static Rock Bar & Music Venue in Swansea tonight, and The Fighting Cocks in Kingston tomorrow, and then Belong ╪ Betray releases this Monday 17th November through Basick Records. Geddit!
