Vanity Draws Blood - Perspective Dread art

We’ve a lot of time for bands who put in their road miles on the path to greatness. Bands like Carcer City, Nexilva, and today’s subjects Vanity Draws Blood.

Already this year, VDB have toured with the likes of Sea of Treachery, Monasteries and the aforementioned Nexilva, building on a strong 2015 which saw them tour Europe and the Baltic states with bands like Legend, We Came As Romans and more on various runs.

Some time in that blur of riffs and tarmac, the six Londoners who make up Vanity Draws Blood found time to write and record a five-track EP, which is right on the cusp of being dropped. Titled Perspective // Dread, it’s a horror concept piece that takes girthy, belligerent metalcore riffs, caustic vocals and a big ole’ stack of attitude, and throws these elements – screaming and probably on fire – at each other like grenades. Marvellous.

We’re stoked to be premiering the whole damn thing for your listening pleasure, before if officially drops. Here ’tis:

You might recognise a different voice on one of the tracks there; no stranger to the odd vocal guest spot, former Thy Art Is Murder vocalist CJ McMahon makes some throaty noises in penultimate track “Anxiety“. Let us know your thoughts!

Perspective // Dread drops tomorrow, Friday 15th July. The boys are back out on tour again this August with Feed Her To The Sharks and Confessions Of A Traitor, with another mooted for September with the crazy-good Black Tongue. Full dates and details below:
