Intronaut reveal a new track from their forthcoming album Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones)
Despite currently being on tour, Los Angeles post-metal act Intronaut are keen to remind us that they have a new album out next month – something we recalled while dwelling on our most anticipated releases of 2013. Quite a few of them are slated for this spring: Kvelertak, Ghost, Omnium Gatherum, Soilwork, KEN mode, Nails and The Ocean – amongst others – are all confirmed to have new material out as the weather starts to get warmer in the northern hemisphere. Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones) , Intronaut’s fourth full-length studio album, is in good company then.
Having previewed a single called “Milk Leg” towards the end of last month, this past Friday they released another new track called “The Welding” that was streaming via Pitchfork, but since the track almost instantly made its way over to YouTube, you can listen to it in the embedded video below.
We’ll withhold our final judgements of both these tracks until we can hear them within the context of the whole album, but we will say that they certainly make us look forward to that complete listening experience. 2010′s Valley Of Smoke was certainly a highlight of the genre that year, dense and crushing as it was.
You’ll be able to pick up Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones) from 19th March, when it is dropped on the world via Century Media Records.
The band are currently on tour with Swedish legends Meshuggah (who are intermittently with and without vocalist Jens Kidman as he recovers from the flu), with Intronaut’s Sacha Dunable reportedly filling in on certain songs, and instrumental prog wonderkids Animals As Leaders. Tomorrow night is the next date of the tour, stopping in Toronto, and it ultimately finishes next weekend in Las Vegas.
They’ll then be taking a month off before heading to Europe with genre contemporaries The Atlas Moth and Castle, the former of which have just completed a tour with Gojira and Devin Townsend. That trek will begin on 5th April at Cafe Nova in Essen, Germany. Full details in the events calendar as always!
