Intronaut and The Atlas Moth, supports on two of the biggest North American tours this year so far (that’s the Meshuggah/Animals As Leaders ’Ophidian’ trek which kicks off today in Orlando, and the in-progress Gojira/Devin Townsend run – events calendar for dates!), are planning to crack right on with their touring come April with a tasty European expedition taking in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, Italy and France, including appearances at both the German and Dutch iterations of the sold-out Roadburn Festival.
It’s well known that Intronaut have a new album out next month – the verbosely titled Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones) – so this comes as no surprise really, and The Atlas Moth are perfectly suited to assist with their post-metal barrage; 2011′s An Ache for the Distance was one of the year’s finest examples of the genre. Castle, the American doom band, are being tapped up as support and will provide an interesting edge, fronted as they are by female vocalist Elizabeth Blackwell, who also plays bass for the band.
A strong tour for sure, and I’m a little gutted this won’t be hitting the UK, but good luck to them anyway. Dates are in the events calendar as always.
