Third track from KEN mode’s forthcoming record Entrench available
A couple of weeks ago we told you about the Botch-friendly new song from award-winning Canadian hardcore band KEN mode, and boy did it get us moist for their forthcoming new record Entrench. “The Promises of God“, which was the second track premiered so far, features erstwhile Botch and current Narrows vocalist Dave Verellen, whose powerful lungs really added a special something to the track. He’s not the only guest on the album either; former Deadguy/Kiss It Goodbye frontman Tim Singer will also feature.
Well, the band have now put out a third song, called “The Terror Pulse“. It’s more of a noise-rock approach to proceedings this time around, with the tempo scaled right back, and aping the early work of Swans and Henry Rollings. There are also spots of vocal work from Jesse Matthewson reminiscent of the fevered desperation of Oxbow‘s Eugene Robinson or the mania of Steve Snere from his These Arms Are Snakes/Kill Sadie days – without ever losing his caustic edge.
It’s streaming over at their native Exclaim.ca, and we highly recommend you go check it out.
Entrench is due out March 19th through Season Of Mist. Furthermore, the band are due to hit the road on a full North American tour in early March to support the release, with Today Is The Day, Black Tusk and Fight Amp in tow. NOT to be missed.
