Fourth track from KEN mode’s forthcoming album Entrench now streaming
Canadians KEN mode have a new album out soon. If you’ve been paying any attention over the past month or so, the information will be pretty well Entrenched in your mind; we’ve covered the song streams of “The Promises Of God” and “The Terror Pulse” (we missed the first one, “Counter Culture Complex“). Now we get a fourth in the form of “Secret Vasectomy“, which is being streamed over at Brooklyn Vegan and Invisible Oranges (due to BV recently acquiring IO).
That ain’t all, though. A fifth track, called “Your Heartwarming Story Makes Me Sick” was premiered on NPR’s All Things Considered podcast last week, which is available here (skip here for the track itself).
This means that pretty much half of Entrench is out there to hear already; that’s tracks 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7 of 11, and we wouldn’t be surprised if one or two more slip out before the March 19th release date.
It’s sounding really fantastic so far. Each of the five tracks has brought something different yet cohesive; be it the unmistakable cameo from Narrows/ex-Botch vocalist Dave Verellen on “The Promises Of God“, the more noise-rock vibe or “The Terror Pulse” or the crunchy vitriol and infinitely shoutable title line from ”Your Heartwarming Story Makes Me Sick“, this is definitely one that should be on every hardcore fan’s radar.
The band are due to go out on tour this Friday in support of the record, with noisecore band Today Is The Day, sludge/stoner outfit Black Tusk, and veteran punk trio Fight Amp. Dates in the events calendar as always.
Entrench will be released on March 19th through Season Of Mist.
