April/May Killswitch Engage tour adds Sylosis to its ranks
When one of the elder statesmen of a scene go on tour, it’s always a big deal. When it’s a Killswitch Engage tour, you know for damn sure that it’s a huge deal, and Europe will surely be moshing this April and May when the hugely experienced metalcore band go on tour.
Since their formation in 1999, they’ve gained a massive following. Their breakthrough second album, Alive Or Just Breathing, was the last to feature returned – almost Messianic - vocalist Jesse Leach, and with a brand new album in the works, the time is ripe for them to remind us what made them so popular.
This tour was actually announced a little while ago, but it has just been confirmed that British thrash darlings Sylosis are to join them on the tour, which will take in The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Belgium, France and *GASP* the UK. Bloody hell.
Sylosis have been on great form for the past year, having just completed a short UK tour in the wake of their massive support slot for Lamb Of God in late 2012. They did of course release the sublime Monolith in October, which made it to more than one of our writers’s year-end lists.
The band’s sixth studio album, entitled Disarm the Descent, is due out April 2nd, just about a week before the Killswitch Engage tour beings at Melkweg in Amsterdam. Check out the events calendar for the rest of the dates, including a slot at Groezrock! The band also previewed a new song from the record recently, entitled “In Due Time“, which surely serves as a bit of a friendly reminder to fans who have been waiting four years since their last LP. Make sure to check it out when it hits.
