Create To Inspire title forthcoming debut EP
Even if you don’t get to go to a gig, reading a live review is a great way to find out about new bands. Often it’s a performance that really gets you excited about an artist’s music, and if it’s described with enough gusto, you can’t help but get carried along.
This was definitely the case with Louis’ report from the Martyr Defiled album release show back in April. One of the supporting acts was Essexian post-hardcore quintet Create To Inspire, and what he said about them prompted me to check out some of their music.
It seems I wasn’t the only one; the band were entered into Red Bull’s competition to play at Download Festival last month, and only went and won it. They seemed incredibly stoked – well you would be, wouldn’t you? – and humble about the whole experience, which was by all accounts a resounding success.
What’s impressive is that there isn’t much recorded output from them – in fact, they’ve just announced the release of their debut EP Halfway Home, along with the lovely artwork above.
There’s no word on tracklist as yet, but the band did actually release a video for the title track about a week ago, so by way of auditory and visual introduction, here’s “Halfway Home“:
Hopefully this is the start of good things for CTI. They’re already confirmed for Screamfest in August with Devil Sold His Soul, and seem to have caught the eye of a number of magazines, so things are definitely on the up. Nice one boys!
Halfway Home will be released 18th August. Keep your eyes peeled!
