Nordic Giants ink with Kscope, promise 2015 album

Nordic Giants 2013

One of our absolute favourite(st) live bands of recent years, British duo Nordic Giants have been flying the flag, carrying the tents and generally waging a two-man rally for their unique brand of cinematic rock for a while now, releasing a number of EPs over the years (including last year’s excellent Build Seas/Dismantle Suns double, which we reviewed here) and generally wowing audiences across the land.

Nordic Giants’ music alone is quite exceptional, but combined with their impressive stage presence it makes them a true gem. Their show involves bedecking themselves in black birdman garb and playing a variety of instruments whilst short films play on a big screen. They are often joined by live singers, also theatrically dressed, or by projected silhouettes of their guest musicians.

It’s with great happiness, then, that we see they’ve today signed with Kscope, a record label of some repute when it comes to handling boundary-pushing art rock. Currently on their roster are the likes of Anathema, Steven Wilson and Ulver, and so we’re confident that they’ll be best placed to give Nordic Giants the exposure they deserve.

A full length album has been touted for March next year, followed by touring, which again is great news:

“Expect the Album out in March, Expect Vinyl and other new merch, Expect Lots of Tour Dates in Europe, U.K and Ireland and Expect the boundaries of our Claustrophobic Post-Rock Cinema Clatter to be pushed even further and even higher than before”

Here’s a quick little teaser video released by the label to announce the signing:

Nordic Giants are quiet on the performance front now, having played a number of festivals and tours over recent months, so we expect that they’ll be hard at work on that debut full-length. More info when we have it!
