Zoax announce Is Everybody Listening?

Zoax - Are You Listening artwork

I jump at every chance I get to talk to you guys about Zoax, because they’re fucking stunning and you should all know about them.

It’s nice, then, that they’ve given us such an exciting opportunity to talk about them again. Fresh (?) from releasing their debut EP XII earlier this year (reviewed here), they’ve today announced EP number 2: Is Everybody Listening?

For me, EPs are the way forward. They’re the most exciting and concise format; everything needs to be stripped back, with no filler. With the immediacy of Zoax’s music, it’s the perfect format. They just need to get enough of their fantastic energy into the recordings, and can use it to advertise what they do live, which is nothing short of astounding. Simon and I see them as often as we can, because they are a whole lot of fun. Seriously.

Loveable frontman Adam Carroll – who Simon once described as a mix of Daryl Palumbo and George Bernard Shaw – says of the news:

“I could just say the same old jazz, that our blood, sweat and tears went into this release, but I would be lying. It was big smiles, high-5′s and good times, that’s the truth.

We couldn’t be happier with how this release turned out, and we hope you love it as much as we do.
2015, should be very exciting for all us catz and kittenz.”

The news also announced the band’s signing with Century Media Records, which is cool. Getting noticed, innit.

Is Everybody Listening? will be released 9th Feb 2015. The band are due to head out on the road with the mighty Baby Godzilla next week, including a particularly tasty date in Hull with The Colour Line. R.I.P. The Welly. Ticket links available on their Facebook page. Good news for Kingston, Jamaica, apparently.
