Catch the hard rockin’ majesty of Red Fang in full swing

Red Fang - Whales and Leeches

Missing your Mastodon? Bemoaning your lack of Baroness? Quiet on the Queens Of The Stone Age front? Want me to stop my shitty alliteration? Then fear not, pals, as Portlanders Red Fang are streaming their brand new album Whales And Leeches in full (and I’ve also reached the point of my sentence), which should banish any cravings for the kind of southern-tinged metal and holistic hard rock.

It’s a damn good record, debuted over at Spin (where there’s an accompanying interview), but they’ve also just put up a version with full commentary from the band on YouTube:

There’s also an amusing game to accompany all this, which can be played here.

The official press release informs us that Murder The Mountains, the band’s 2011 effort, sold a cool 50,000 copies, which is rather impressive. I wasn’t too familiar with that one, but this one has a few hooks here and there that, even after only a couple of spins, are already stuck in my head, so I expect it to enter into regular rotation.

The band are diligent workers on the road; a fact which is backed up by their full-ass touring schedule, which already stretches well into next year. Check it out:
