Circles on their way over for European tour

Circles 2013

I haven’t met many Australians, but I hope to whatever upside-down god they worship over there that the majority of them are something like the boys from Circles. There are a lot of po-face bands around these days – especially in the progressive metal scene – but these five Aussies are truly joyous to behold – and make pretty good music too.

It was a delight that we managed to catch them on our shores last year – they were playing in support of their latest record Infinitas, and making the most of the flights over to Europe after being invited to play Euroblast – but we didn’t think we’d get to see them again so soon.

You see, last month they were announced as the replacement support on the imminent After The Burial/Monuments European tour after countrymen Dead Letter Circus dropped out.

Once again they are making the most of the trip, as it coincides nicely with the release of the deluxe edition of Infinitas, which includes 3 bonus tracks, 2 videos and a digital booklet, so if you didn’t pick it up the first time (and why not?!), you can pre-order it here.

To give the whole thing a bit of extra gusto, they’ve released a new video, for the song “On My Way“, which infuriatingly I can’t seem to crowbar into a punny title, to my plague-ridden shame.

Anyway, yur tis:

Comments drummer Dave Hunter:

“We went with something a little more light-hearted this time around. All of our previous videos had quite a serious tone to them, whereas “On My Way” is more of a celebration that we’ve made it as far as we have. This has probably been the most fun we’ve ever had when shooting a music video, as we didn’t have to be anything other than who we are. We had our good friends Will Gaffney and Glen Nicholls help out with shooting it and as always I took on all post production duties.

On My Way is really a big ‘fuck you’ to anyone out there who tries to tear down somebody’s dream or hold them back. You can strive for what you want, be who you want to be and no-one can take that away from you. Three years ago if you told me that I’d be jet setting around the world with some of my favourite bands, playing to hundreds of people that know my music, I would have laughed and said you were crazy. But it looks like you can do anything you set your mind to I guess…”

If you’re up for seeing them on the aforementioned tour, the dates for that are below:
