Devil Sold His Soul premiere new song with video
We’re less than a week away from Devil Sold His Soul‘s new EP – a modest five track bemusingly titled Belong ╪ Betray - and although we’ve already heard 40% of the thing (see: “Time” and “Unveiled“), the band have seen fit to serve up another 20% with this new video for the EP’s opening track, “Devastator“:
Unlike the last two, it’s a fairly standard performance video, but it’s a pretty one. The track is well-named too; DSHS have really nailed this crushing brand of ambient post-hardcore/metal, utilising absolutely massive riffs to bludgeon the listener.
There’s a bit more dynamism to them than that – the latter half of the EP in particular is quite pretty – but it’s great that the departure of long-standing vocalist Ed Gibbs hasn’t affected them too much, bar maybe a bit of extra time spent gelling with new guy Paul Green, who is absolutely fantastic. As recent performances have shown, he’s a perfect fit for them, and we’re confident Belong ╪ Betray will push them on to new heights.
Belong ╪ Betray is due out November 17th through Basick Records. The band are due to play a short run of UK dates later this week plus another in December; full details below, and ticket links here.
