Brighton’s Collisions have put up their new single for streaming!

Collisions We Know The Enemy track art

I have a bit of a soft spot for Collisions. I first encountered their genre-smashing sound as the opening band on the bill at the launch party for The Algorithm‘s Polymorphic Code, and I’ve watched them go from strength to strength since then, with slots at UK Tech-Metal Fest and Takedown last year, as well as supporting the mighty Senser, earning themselves a spot on my list of five bands to watch in 2014.

In the build up to their appearance at Hammerfest this weekend, the band are due to release their video for new song “We Know The Enemy” via Metal Hammer this week, but have slipped the track itself out via Soundcloud already.

I like it. Possibly the most ferocious track we’ve heard from them thus far, it showcases their hybrid sound perfectly. Clattering drum & bass rhythms and bleepy electronica snuggled up comfortably and naturally with big, chewy guitar riffing and memorable vocal hooks.

It sounds to me like the band are really finding their voice now, moving beyond being an admittedly pleasing amalgamation of their influences and becoming a force to be reckoned with in their own right. It certainly bodes well for their upcoming debut album, which should be unleashed in a few short months.

Check out the track below and look out for the video later this week. It might be a good idea to break out your dancing pants while you’re at it.

Make sure to check out Collisions on Facebook. As mentioned, they’ll be at Hammerfest this weekend, and hopefully be back touring the UK this summer.
