New song, new album, and overseas touring from Aussies Circles
It’s hard not to love Australians, especially when they’re as talented and genial as Circles, a progressive metal band from Melbourne.
Circles wowed us with their Basick Records debut a couple of years ago; a mini-album called The Compass which featured “Clouds Are Gathering“, a song that has probably the best one-chord riff in existence.
Things have been quiet since, but earlier this year we were treated to a new song in the form of “Another Me“, and promises of a new record this year. Consider that promise kept, as Infinitas, their debut full-length, has now been announced!
Details are tight as of now, but what the cheeky Aussies have done is release a track for free download. It’s called “As It Is Above“, which we reckon is a reference to the north/south hemispherical divide the band have with most of their audience. You can pick that up from www.circlesband.com, and in return for your e-mail address you’ll get the mp3, as well as emails with videos giving the story behind each track from the album, which will only be available to said subscribers.
Here’s a little teaser to get you interested:
Says drummer Dave Hunter:
So yes, as well as the album, quite excitingly, Circles are going to be touring outside of their country for the first time, with appearances mooted for this October’s Euroblast in Germany, with more dates More dates across the UK & Europe, Russia and Saudi Arabia to come soon!
