Last Chance To Reason’s “Rebirth” on the horizon
When Last Chance To Reason announced their new album Level 3 last week, we were a bit excited. They’re not the biggest band, nor the most established, but their music is deceptively intelligent, and with their last effort Level 2 firmly ensconced as one of 2011′s breakthrough hits, the word of a new record is more than welcome.
Not content with just the one song, the guys have now put out “Rebirth“, the album’s first track, and a nod to the themes of the final song from Level 2, “Apotheosis“. Check it:
Whilst the album – which is out August 6th through Prosthetic Records – is exciting indeed, it comes with a bit of a downside: with vocalist Michael Lessard taking the full-time slot heading The Contortionist, guitarists A J Harvey and Mike Abdow stepping down from the band entirely, and the remaining two having work and family commitments, LCTR will be more of a side project now that a full band.
Nevertheless, this is reason to celebrate, and whilst not a true rebirth for the band, we’ll hopefully get some hijinks out of it, including the just announced North American tour with The Faceless bassist Evan Brewer, which you’d be advised to get to if you can, as it will be the last for some time.
