One Of Us Is The Killer and Altered State available to hear before release
Two of the most anticipated albums coming out in may are surely The Dillinger Escape Plan‘s One Of Us Is The Killer and TesseracT‘s Altered State.
Both records leaked over the weekend, and so to jump in ahead of the week’s bout of illegal downloads, Sumerian Records and Century Media have decided to put their respective releases out in full to stream.
Starting with The Dillinger Escape Plan, One Of Us Is The Killer is released tomorrow in North America via Sumerian Records and the band’s own imprint Party Smasher Inc. It’s their fifth studio full-length, and continues their progression from the pure-tech wizardry of Calculating Infinity to an at times mellower, but altogether more varied beast of ferocity and guile.
Pitchfork have the stream, which you can hear here. We’re hoping to have a review up later today to celebrate, so keep an eye out for that!
TesseracT’s second, Altered State is the recorded debut for new vocalist Ashe O’Hara, who has been impressing fans across Europe with recent live performances. Harsh vocals have been done away with entirely here, but it’s safe to say that Ashe is a fine match for much beloved former frontman Dan Tompkins, and the record feels light and refreshing. Saxophone cameos from Ever Forthright frontman Chris Baretto add a bit of flavour too.
It’s out May 27th in Europe and May 28th in North America through Century Media Records, and is up on the label’s YouTube account below!
Both bands are on tour at the moment; The Dillinger Escape Plan across North America with The Faceless and Royal Thunder, and TesseracT in the UK with The Algorithm and Enochian Theory, all of whom are fine accompaniments. Dates in the events calendar!
