SHORT WEEK ON THE MONOLITH, BUT WE PACKED A LOT IN!

closed for holiday

It’s Easter Bank Holiday weekend in the UK today (and on Monday), so we’re taking a bit of time off to recharge our batteries and come out swinging next week. Here’s what we got up to over the past four days!

We introduced Earthrise, a fantastic post-metal band from Minneapolis, MN.
We listened to new songs from The Ocean, Limp BizkitErlen Meyer, Dark Sermon, Keep Of Kalessin, and Havok, and album streams from Killswitch Engage and Nails.
We interviewed rising Canadian cinematographer Ben Dundas, who is making a name for himself in the industry for creating thoughtful playthrough and music videos. He’s worked heavily with Intervals and Structures, and it’s a really interesting talk about his experiences.
We debuted a new column, The Post-Coroner, which will look at a different release every week under the post-X and X-core genre umbrella. This week: erstwhile post-hardcore band These Arms Are Snakes‘ 2006 masterpiece Easter.
We shirked our interviewerly responsibilities and got Dissipate to interview Kevin McCaughey of Canadian mathcore band Ion Dissonance for us! Top dudes, all.

Hope you enjoyed all that. See you on Tuesday!
