Heart Of A Coward round out the 2015 Tech Fest bill
Combining two recent updates from the UK Tech Fest camp – one from last week, which we missed due to holiday – and one final one today, we’ve now got the final line-up confirmed (pending any last-minute drop-outs) for next month’s event – and we’re now more excited than ever.
If you’ve missed our coverage of the last two years, you might not get why, but this is one of the best small music festivals the UK has to offer. Entering its fourth year, it’s the spiritual home of one of the friendliest metal music scenes in the country. Seriously; you can go on your own and come away with a handful of new friends and several embarrassing stories to cement said relationships for years to come.
Last week’s announcement added all but one headliner: big names like Monuments (Sunday Co-Headliner) and Hacktivist (Thursday Earlybird Headliner) are joined by familiar faces Nexilva, No Consequence, Carcer City, Red Seas Fire, The Sun Explodes, Kadinja and Subversion. We’ve seen many of these grow both at and between the festival’s dates, and are confident you could find something to enjoy amongst them, even if you’ve seen them before.
There’s also a complement of Tech Fest virgins in Rolo Tomassi, Kryn, Borders, Sumer, This Is Turin, Immersa, Jagwar, Clockwork, Brutai, Agent and Sentience. Of these, we’re particularly glad to see Sumer, who aren’t really tech at all, but who we’ll ship until the seas dry up and all the boats have been recycled for paper – do NOT miss them.
So following all this is today’s headliner announcement confirms Heart Of A Coward - omitted from the last update presumably because they were at Download festival this weekend just gone (as happened last year with SikTh). HoaC played two years ago in a much lower billing, but their status has grown since then, and with new album Deliverance just announced for release by Century Media, many will be keen to hear more music that makes you want to headbutt the floor.
Tech Fest takes place just under one month from now – July 9th-12th – and you can grab your super reasonable ticket from here. We’ll be out in force; we’ll see you there.
