The Black Dahlia Murder want you to embrace the glory of the goat!

The Black Dahlia Murder - Goat Of Departure

The Black Dahlia Murder are one of the finest examples of young American melodic death metal, and their latest release Everblack, is easily in the top tier of metal albums released thus far this year. However, this so called “top tier” is continually expanding at an alarming rate, so it will be pretty interesting to see if they still end up on top at the end of the year.

Regardless, the band have released a new music video for one of the better tracks from the new album, entitled “Goat Of Departure” it’s a blistering, venomous song complete with all the hallmarks that define the band. Trevor Stmad‘s great and dynamic vocals, killer blasts, tasteful riffing and strong solos all combine to create a compelling song worthy of your finest headbanging efforts.

For a song that contains the main chorus line of “Embrace the glory of the goat!”The Black Dahlia Murder have created a captivating and often hilarious video accompaniment that is situated around the interaction between a ginger Abraham Lincoln, a gorilla character with a massive oversized head and of course, a goat. At the same time, the video juxtaposes this by cutting between band members running around their small town and getting themselves into a  number of amusing circumstances, before finally playing a show at the local bar in full suits and formal wear. What’s particularly interesting is to see Stmad sport his glasses, as it’s incredibly rare to see an extreme metal frontman wear glasses whilst performing their music (except perhaps Ihsahn).

Trevor Strnad adds: “It’s our pleasure to release our latest exercise in music video stupidity to you all at long last… We’d like to thank Guiness the Goat for penciling us in and all of the rabid TBDM fans for getting wild with us. Press the play button and embrace the glory of the goat!”

Check out the video below and be sure to worship any goats you come across.

The Black Dahlia Murder’s new album Everblack is available via Metal Blade Records.
